# Pompano Beach Wedding Venues: A Photographer's Guide

Eric Goldstein • October 2026 • Pompano Beach, FL

I'm Eric Goldstein, a Boca Raton wedding photographer. I've photographed one wedding in Pompano Beach, at The Oceanic in April 2026. This guide covers that venue and eight more so you can compare them in one place.

I haven't shot the other eight, so I won't tell you how they photograph. What I can give you is what each venue publishes about its own spaces, checked on October 23, 2026, and the questions I'd ask before you sign. Capacities are the venue's own numbers. Prices aren't here. They change by date and guest count, and every venue will send you current ones.

## The Oceanic

The Oceanic is an oceanfront restaurant in the Pompano Beach Fishing Village, with views of the Atlantic and the pier. The upstairs rooms have both indoor and open-air options. The Mangrove Room on the first floor is indoor only.

I shot a late-afternoon ceremony here, and the light coming off the water did most of the work. The catch is ocean weather. Ask about the wind plan before you book. I wrote up the full day in [The Oceanic Pompano Beach wedding guide](https://www.ericgoldsteinphotography.com/blog/oceanic-pompano-wedding/).

## Beach House Pompano

Beach House is another oceanfront restaurant in the same Fishing Village. Its events page describes a ceremony on the sand and a reception on the rooftop terrace. The Upper Deck seats 150 and holds 350 for a cocktail party.

Its smaller rooms show different capacities on different pages, so confirm those by phone. A ceremony on the city beach needs the permit described below, so ask Beach House how they handle it.

## Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort

The Marriott has a beach, an oceanfront Ocean Terrace and indoor ballrooms. It lists a sunset ceremony on the beach, and 250 guests for a reception on either the beach or the terrace (230 seated on the terrace).

The page also lists 300 as its largest capacity. That's theater-style seating, not a seated dinner. Ask whether the city beach permit applies to a ceremony on the hotel's stretch of sand.

## Pier 6 Rooftop

Pier 6 is a rooftop above the Home2 Suites in the Fishing Village, with ocean views. A ceremony rental includes chairs, a customized setup and two hours of exclusive use of the space. The Surfside Ballroom below has floor-to-ceiling windows and can divide into four sections.

Pier 6's own site says up to 250 guests. A neighboring Fishing Village page says 300. Plan on 250 and ask.

## Sands Harbor Resort & Marina and Lola's on the Water

Sands Harbor sits on the Intracoastal, not the ocean. The North Dock can host a ceremony or a reception for up to 150 right on the water, and Penthouse 901 fits ceremonies for up to 40. Guests can arrive by boat.

Lola's on the Water is the on-site restaurant, and it offers partial or full buyouts. Some older listings still call it the Sands Harbor Waterfront Restaurant, and a legacy website still advertises it that way. Use the current names when you call.

## Galuppi's

Galuppi's is a restaurant and banquet venue beside Pompano's municipal golf course. The ceremony happens on a private terrace under a handcrafted wooden arch, with the course and its lakes behind it.

It has valet parking next to the terrace entrance and a preferred vendor list. Its rooms host private parties from 25 to over 300 guests.

## Beachcomber Resort & Club

Beachcomber is an oceanfront resort with more than 8,500 square feet of outdoor event space and ceremonies directly on the beach. It doesn't publish guest counts, so ask for them. It also recommends hiring an outside wedding planner.

## Sample-McDougald House

This is a 1916 historic house at Centennial Park, inland. Ceremonies take place in the garden, and the inside of the house is open for photos. A bridal suite and a groom's dressing room are in the house.

Rental rates are tiered by guest count, up to 400 guests. It's the one venue on this list where the setting is a historic home instead of the water.

## The Soundpost Venue

The Soundpost is an indoor event hall of about 7,000 square feet, built with a stage and sound system for concerts as well as weddings. It lists more than 180 parking spaces. Its pages give 300 and 340 as the capacity, and they don't describe a ceremony setup. Ask both questions.

## A Few More Options

Baresco is a restaurant in the Fishing Village with an open-air patio across from the ocean, and it lists weddings and private events. Serenity Yacht Cruises runs a 72-foot yacht for up to 41 passengers and lists sunset ceremonies on the Intracoastal. You can bring your own food and drinks, or arrange catering for an extra charge.

Sea Glass Venue is a new indoor venue at 116 N Ocean Blvd, run by the Galuppi's owners. It's taking bookings, but as of October 2026 local reporting said it was still under construction with no opening date. Call before you plan around it.

## Beach Weddings in Pompano Beach: the Permit

The city requires a permit for a beach ceremony. It offers four locations and two time slots, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. You apply in person at the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center, 1801 NE 6th St, or call Parks at (954) 786-4111. Apply early. The city doesn't publish a lead time.

The later slot is the one that covers golden hour. The four locations are north of the pier, north of the pier near Pavilion 3, south of the pier, and 16th Street at North Ocean Park.

Here are the rules printed on the permit form:

- No alcohol or glass on city beaches.
- No catering, bands or amplified music.
- No tents larger than 10 by 10 feet, and no temporary flooring.
- No rice, confetti, paper petals or balloons.
- No lighting of any kind during turtle nesting season, March 1 to October 31.
- Electricity isn't available at any location, and parking meters are enforced all day, every day.

One more line from the form is worth knowing. It's a public beach, and wedding parties, planners and photographers aren't allowed to ask anyone on the sand to move. People may walk through your ceremony.

## How I Plan the Light in Pompano

The ocean is to the east. For a ceremony in the last two hours before sunset, I put the couple with their backs to the water. The sun drops behind the guests and lights the couple's faces, and the horizon stays clean behind them.

A midday beach slot is harsh, and wind is the bigger problem. Veils, hair and programs go places. I plan for that, and I'd ask any venue what the plan is when the wind picks up.

## What I'd Ask Every Pompano Beach Venue

1. What's the plan if it rains or the wind picks up, and who decides on the day?
2. Which way does the ceremony face, and what time is sunset on my date?
3. Is there a room to get ready in, with window light?
4. Does the venue charge a fee or require insurance for outside vendors, photographers included?
5. Where do guests park, and who pays?
6. When does the music stop, and when does the venue need to be cleared?
7. Which fees and taxes get added to the quote, and is there a food and beverage minimum?

## Pompano Beach Wedding Questions

### Do you need a permit for a beach wedding in Pompano Beach?

Yes. The city requires a permit for a beach ceremony. You apply in person at the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center, or call Parks at (954) 786-4111. Ask whether it applies if your ceremony is on a resort's own stretch of sand.

### What time slots does Pompano Beach offer for beach weddings?

Two: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Setup and breakdown have to fit inside the slot you choose. The later slot covers golden hour.

### Can you have alcohol at a Pompano Beach beach wedding?

Not on the city beach. Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited on city beaches, and the permit rules also rule out catering, bands and amplified music. Many venues in this guide host a reception with a bar once the ceremony is done.

### Which Pompano Beach wedding venues are on the ocean?

The Oceanic, Beach House Pompano, the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort and Beachcomber Resort & Club are oceanfront, and Pier 6 Rooftop has ocean views from above the Fishing Village. Sands Harbor is on the Intracoastal.

### Which Pompano Beach venue have you photographed?

The Oceanic, in April 2026. I haven't photographed the others in this guide, so the details for them come from each venue's own published information, checked October 23, 2026.

### Is Sea Glass Venue open?

As of October 2026, local reporting said it was still under construction with no opening date announced, though it was taking bookings. Call the venue before you plan around it.

### How much does a Pompano Beach wedding venue cost?

It depends on the date, the guest count and the package, so I don't print prices. Ask each venue for a current quote, and ask which fees and taxes are added and whether there's a food and beverage minimum.
