# Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before reaching out

## Booking & Availability

How far in advance should I book?
+

For weddings, most couples book 9 to 14 months out. If your date is within the next 6 months, reach out right away, I often have late-season availability that is not publicly listed. For bar and bat mitzvahs, 6 to 12 months is typical. For corporate events and family sessions, a few weeks to a couple of months is usually sufficient.

How do I hold my date?
+

A signed contract and retainer secure your date. I do not hold dates informally, until those are received, the date remains available to other clients. The retainer is a percentage of your total package and is applied to the final balance.

Do you travel for events outside South Florida?
+

Yes. I have photographed destination events throughout Florida and am available to travel nationally and internationally. Travel fees apply for events beyond a reasonable driving distance from Palm Beach County. Ask about your specific location and I will give you a straight answer on what travel looks like.

What is your cancellation policy?
+

The retainer is non-refundable, it reserves your date and compensates me for declining other bookings. If you need to reschedule, I will work with you to find a new date at no additional charge, subject to availability. Full cancellation policies are detailed in the contract.

## Coverage & Style

How would you describe your photography style?
+

Documentary with an editorial eye. I am not there to stage your day, I am there to photograph it as it happens. I do handle formal portraits and family groupings professionally, but the images people keep are almost always the candid ones: the glance between a couple before the ceremony, the father watching from across the room, the moment the room erupts during the hora. That is what I am focused on capturing.

Where are you based and what areas do you cover?
+

I'm based in Boca Raton and cover Palm Beach County, Broward and Miami-Dade. Most of my weddings and events are in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach, Wellington, Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach. I travel for the right fit.

How long have you been photographing weddings and events?
+

I've photographed professionally in South Florida since 2012. In 2024 I launched Eric Goldstein Photography as its own studio, focused on weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, events and family portraits.

Do you work with a second photographer?
+

Most weddings I shoot on my own. You book me, you get me, from the first call to the final gallery. A second photographer is available as a paid add-on for larger weddings or when two rooms need covering at the same time. Tell me the guest count and the venue and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth adding.

Do you shoot video as well?
+

Yes. I shoot photo and video at the same time, and I fly a drone when the venue and weather allow it. One person, one consistent look across the whole day. Hybrid video can be added to any photo package, and the Platinum package includes photo, video and drone together. If you want a longer produced film, I can bring in a dedicated videographer.

Are you insured?
+

Yes. I carry liability insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to your venue, which many venues ask for before the wedding. More in [do wedding photographers need insurance](https://www.ericgoldsteinphotography.com/blog/do-wedding-photographers-need-insurance/).

Is your drone flying licensed?
+

Yes. I'm an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, and I fly drone coverage when the venue and weather allow it.

## Deliverables & Editing

How many photos will I receive?
+

For a full wedding day, typically 600 to 900 edited images. Bar and bat mitzvahs usually yield 400 to 700. The number depends on the length of coverage, the size of the event, and how much is happening. I do not pad galleries with duplicates or marginally different frames, every image I deliver is one I would be proud to show.

How long until I receive my gallery?
+

Weddings: 4 to 6 weeks, with a sneak peek within 48 hours. Bar and bat mitzvahs: 3 to 4 weeks. Smaller events and family sessions: 1 to 2 weeks. I edit every image personally, so turnaround reflects real work, not a batch preset. Rush delivery is available at an additional fee if you have a genuine deadline.

How are galleries delivered?
+

Via a private online gallery. You get a link, a download of full-resolution files, and the ability to share with family and friends directly from the gallery. The gallery stays active for 12 months. If you need it extended, just ask.

Do you do black and white photography?
+

Yes. I include a selection of black and white images in every gallery, typically for moments where the tones and emotion carry more weight without color. You receive both the color and B&W versions where applicable. I do not offer fully black-and-white-only galleries.

## Pricing & Packages

What do your packages include?
+

Wedding packages run from 6 to 10 hours of coverage. Every package includes the full ceremony and reception, every image fully edited, a private online gallery and a print release. The larger packages add an engagement session, drone coverage, hybrid video and same-day social previews. Albums, prints, rehearsal dinner coverage and a day-after session are add-ons. Ask me and I'll send the Wedding Investment Guide with current pricing the same day.

Can I add hours on the day of the event?
+

If the schedule changes and I am available to stay, yes. Additional hours are billed at the rate in your contract. I am flexible when the situation calls for it, but I appreciate a heads-up as early as possible if you think the timeline is shifting.
