Hiring an Event Photographer in Boca Raton: What to Expect

I'm Eric Goldstein, an event photographer in Boca Raton. I photograph corporate events, galas, fundraisers, holiday parties and milestone celebrations across Palm Beach County, Broward and Miami-Dade. This is how an event booking works, from the first email to the final gallery, and what to have ready.

What an Event Photographer Covers

Events have their own rhythm. My job is to document the energy, the details, the speakers and the moments between the planned parts of the program: the conversations, the reactions, the room at its best.

What to Send Me First

A short email is enough. These are the details that let me give you a straight answer on availability and coverage:

  1. The date, the venue, and the start and end times
  2. The program or agenda, if there is one
  3. About how many people are coming
  4. Where the photos will be used: your website, social media, press or internal communications
  5. Any hard deadline, such as a press release or a post the next morning

I take one event per date, so the date and venue are the fastest way to find out if I'm free.

One Point of Contact Beats a Long Shot List

A shot list helps and it isn't required. The most useful thing is one person on the day who can point out the people and moments that matter to you: sponsors, honorees, the board, the surprise. I'll work from that person and from whatever list you send.

Dark Ballrooms and Evening Events

Boca Raton ballrooms and country club dining rooms are usually dim and warm. I use off-camera flash and fast lenses, and I light the room so skin tones look natural and the room still looks like the room.

How Many Hours Do You Need?

Coverage is for the hours you need, and event work is priced by the hour. Think about the stretch that matters: the arrival and cocktail hour, the program, the awards or speeches, and the last group photo. If the schedule shifts and I can stay, I'm happy to. A second shooter and video coverage are available as add-ons, and a second shooter makes sense for larger rooms.

What You Get

Where I Shoot Events

Boca Raton events tend to land at a short list of places: The Boca Raton, Boca West Country Club, Broken Sound Club, Woodfield Country Club, Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club, the Polo Club of Boca Raton, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Mizner Park and the restaurants around it, and private homes. Most of my event work is within 30 minutes of Boca: Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Deerfield Beach, Parkland, Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale. I've photographed celebrations at the Delray Beach Club, The Oceanic in Pompano Beach and Lago Mar in Fort Lauderdale.

Event Photographer Questions

How do I hire an event photographer in Boca Raton?

Send the date, the venue, the start and end times and where the photos will be used. I'll tell you if I'm free and what coverage makes sense. Event bookings are one per date, so the date is the first thing to settle.

How far in advance should I book an event photographer?

For corporate events a few weeks to a couple of months is usually enough. For a gala or a date that fills up, earlier is better. A quick email with the date and venue is the fastest way to check.

Can we use the photos for marketing?

Yes. Event packages include a usage release, so your company can use the images on your website, social media, press and internal communications.

How quickly will we get the photos?

Smaller events are delivered in 1 to 2 weeks through a private online gallery. Rush delivery is available if you have a real deadline, such as a press release or a social post the next morning.

Do you shoot video at events?

Yes. I can run photo and video at the same time, so one person covers both. For larger rooms a second shooter can be added.

How do you handle dark ballrooms and evening receptions?

Off-camera flash and fast lenses. Boca Raton ballrooms and country club dining rooms are usually dim and warm, and I light them so skin tones look natural and the room still looks like the room.
